Teddy and I are on the top of the world! Teddy was a real BAMF doing this trail with me.
Mt. Lukens is the highest point within the Los Angeles city limits (5074 ft / 1547 m). I confess, I did get lost at some point…it was suppose to be a 10 mile loop which became a 14 mile loop.
The top of Mt. Lukens sure dwarfs the Verdugo Mountains (on the right side).
When you get to the top of Mt. Lukens, you feel like you should crown yourself the king and queen of LA at this point.
Though you’re so high and you earned the bragging rights of being at the highest point in the Los Angeles City limits, it’s not as pretty as the views of Tongva Peak/Beaudry loop.
