Winta from Wandering Outside the Box is hosting a multi-week blog challenge with weekly prompts around the theme of travel. The wonderful thing about it is you don’t need to be a travel blogger nor have traveled to so many countries. Maybe you’ve got lots of stories around your hometown, home state, home country.
For me, it’s a wonderful excuse to go through my vault (known as my photobucket and Facebook account) to look at old photos, share, and reflect. Also I look forward to connecting with other bloggers and reading their stories too.
Week 1: Your favorite travel photo of you and intro
This is my favorite photo of me and this was taken a long time ago. To be specific, this was in June 2007 at Miyajima Island in Japan. This is one of my favorite photos because it’s kind of quirky — after all, Miyajima is known for having a lot of deer roaming on the island and they’re friendly.
Anyways about me, my name is Julie and I am not a travel blogger at all. From Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, I am a project manager. All other times I am a wife, a dog mom to a miniature schanuzer and a pomeranian, writer, reader, dreamer, amateur urban farmer, rookie home DIY-er, barre enthusiast, cycle/spin fan, hiker, experimental home chef, penny pincher, tech and wellbeing advocate, and course, occasional traveler and occasional crafter. The titles can goes on.
I live in Los Angeles — I don’t live near the beach nor do I live in a tony neighborhood like Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood. What you won’t find in this blog are same listicles of popular LA places you’ve seen in the blogosphere and you won’t find heavily photoshopped pictures — that takes too much time.
Below is a list of countries I’ve traveled to:
- USA (of course)
- Costa Rica
- Hong Kong
Here is a list of countries I’d like to go. I know that’s reserved for Week 20 — but I’ll share in more detail when the time comes:
- South Africa
